Baton Rouge Veterinarian Staff Ready for Any Animal Emergency
Here at Jefferson Animal Hospital, we have been serving pets in the Baton Rouge area for more than 30 years. We treat all of our patients as treasured members of our family, and put a great deal of emphasis on wellness and preventative care so that these animal companions can live long, active, happy lives with the families who love them. Whether a pet is having an animal emergency, needs pet boarding or pet acupuncture, we have a caring, committed and expert veterinarian staff who combine the traditions of both Western and Eastern veterinary medicine to provide the very best care possible — for pets that don’t get treated like animals.
Baton Rouge Animal Clinic and Animal Hospital Promotes Pet Wellness
Dr. Sam Haase and Dr. Frederic Michaelson opened Jefferson Animal Hospital back in February 1979, and they both still own and practice full time here at our animal clinic. Since those days, we have assembled a great team of professionals with a wide range of veterinary experience and a passion for keeping pets healthy.
Over the last three decades, we have built a one-stop animal hospital and animal emergency response team for the pet community. We are here for everything from pet urgent care and surgery, pet microchip placement and pet boarding to every type of preventative pet wellness care imaginable.
Wellness and preventative care are a major focus here in our animal clinic, because we all want to keep our pets happy and healthy for as long as possible. Regular checkups and vaccinations, pet microchip placement and dental care keep pets safe and in great shape.
When accidents or diseases strike, however, we can handle nearly any animal emergency and pet urgent care need with our surgical staff. Our orthopedic surgery staff helps pets with fractures, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair and patella luxations and more. We have an in-house pharmacy as well as radiology and imaging equipment so that we can provide pets with fast, expert care right in our office. We also help area pets with cardiology, dermatology, neurology and ophthalmology, as our veterinarians understand and practice expert internal veterinary medicine. We even offer pain management help through laser therapy.
In addition to the decades of Western veterinary medical experience of Dr. Haase and Dr. Michaelson, we are happy to offer pet acupuncture and Eastern veterinary medical care through the services of our certified veterinary acupuncturist, veterinarian Dr. Larry McCaskill, DVM, CVA. He has helped many pets find relief at our animal clinic through a combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine. This gives owners a wider range of treatment options for pets with a myriad of health problems.
Our Baton Rouge Veterinarian Team has so much to offer pets. We are happy to answer any questions pet owners may have, and are ready to schedule appointments either by phone at 225-927-2344 or right here on the website.
